Michael stood in the Mayor’s office, his hands fidgeting nervously as he explained his plan. “The Hunsteads are incredible,” Michael said with excitement. “The soil is alive, and the gardens are full of potential. If I could restore them, I could grow so much more food for the village.”

The Mayor leaned back in his chair, listening intently. “I admire your determination, Michael,” he said. “But the Hunsteads aren’t ours to give. They’re abandoned, yes, but they belong to the king now. If you want to use them, you’d have to buy them from the government.”

Michael’s heart sank. “Buy them? But I don’t have that kind of money…” But the Mayor suddenly remembered something – “Wait a moment. I recall one of the Hunsteads used to belong to your family – your great-grandparents. Since it has ties to your ancestors, I think it would only be fair to let you have that one.” Michael’s eyes lit up. “Really? I can use it?” The Mayor nodded. “Yes, but only that one. If you want more, you’ll need to find a way to buy them.”

The Mayor smiled. “I’ll make it official. That one Hunstead garden is yours to use, Michael. I can’t give you more than this one.”

“Thank you,” he said sincerely. “I’ll make sure to take care of it.”
The Mayor placed a hand on Michael’s shoulder. “I know you will. And who knows? Maybe this is just the beginning. One step at a time, Michael.”

Michael left the Mayor’s office with a renewed sense of purpose. He knew the challenge ahead wouldn’t be easy, but he couldn’t wait to bring his family’s old Hunstead garden back to life.

Michael looked around at the wild and tangled mess before him. The garden was brimming with weeds that had taken over completely. The plants were tall and unruly, their roots tangled and knotted. He had never seen anything like it. “How am I going to clear all of this?” Michael muttered, rubbing the back of his neck. “It’s too big a job for just me.”

Goats to the Rescue
As he thought about the challenge, Michael suddenly remembered his trusty goats back at home. They loved munching on weeds! He rushed back to his garden, gathered his goats, and led them up to the Hunstead.

The goats wasted no time. They set to work nibbling, munching, and chomping their way through the weeds. Michael watched in awe as they cleared the garden little by little, turning the chaos into manageable patches of soil. “You’re amazing!” Michael said, patting one of the goats on the head. “I couldn’t have done this without you.”

Once the goats had finished their feast, Michael got to work planting his *Magic Seed Mix*. He carefully scattered the seeds across the freshly cleared soil, imagining the lush garden that would grow in its place.

Too Much to Handle
Days turned into weeks, and the seeds in the Hunstead garden began to sprout. Tiny green shoots peeked through the soil, promising the start of something wonderful. But as the plants grew, so did Michael’s workload.
Between tending to his own garden and caring for the Hunstead, Michael found himself overwhelmed. He worked from sunrise to sunset, but it was never enough. The Hunstead garden needed more attention than he could give.

“I can’t do this alone,” Michael admitted to Jenna one evening. “I need help.” Jenna nodded thoughtfully. “Why don’t you ask the farmers?” she suggested. Michael shook his head. “They’re all too busy with their own work. I need to find someone else.”

The Hundred Huns of the Hunstead
That night, as Michael lay in bed, an idea began to form in his mind. The garden was too big for one person, but what if he divided it into smaller sections? And what if he asked the children of the village to help? Each child could look after one little plot, making the work manageable for everyone.

The next morning, Michael raced up to the Hunstead with his idea. He looked at the garden and imagined it divided into neat little squares. He counted in his head and guessed he could create around 100 small plots.

“Perfect,” he said to himself. “One hundred plots on every Hunstead.”

Excited, Michael ran back to the village and began spreading the word. He asked the children if they wanted to help him restore the Hunstead garden. The response was overwhelming—children from all over the village wanted to be part of it. Michael smiled and handed each child a little paper bag filled with just the right amount of *Magic Seed Mix* for their plot. “Take care of these seeds,” he said. “Together, we’re going to bring the Hunstead back to life.”

Magic Rope
As Michael prepared to section off the garden, Zome appeared in the soil underworld. “I hear you’ve got a big job ahead of you,” Zome said with a twinkle in his eye. “Let me help.”
Zome explained that he could weave a special kind of rope—magic rope—with mushroom seeds hidden inside. “Lay this rope on the ground to mark the sections,” Zome said. “It will grow mushrooms to mark the perimeter, and the mushrooms will attract microbes to help the soil.” Michael couldn’t believe his luck. “Thank you, Zome! That’s perfect.”

With Zome’s help, Michael divided the garden into 100 child-sized plots, each marked with the magic rope. As he worked, he felt a growing sense of excitement. This wasn’t just a garden anymore—it was a community project, a chance for the children to learn and grow alongside the plants.

When the children arrived to plant their seeds, Michael gathered them together. “We are the Hun kids,” he said with a grin. “We know the secrets of the Huns, and we plant a hundred spaces on our Hunstead!” The children cheered, thrilled to be part of something so special. They got to work planting their seeds, carefully tucking each one into the soil. Then they waited for the rain to come and water the garden.

A Garden Comes to Life
After a few weeks, the children returned to the Hunstead to check on their plots. What they saw took their breath away. The garden was alive with colour and life. Tiny plants had sprouted in every plot, their leaves reaching for the sun. The magic rope had grown mushrooms along the edges, adding even more life to the thriving garden.

Michael watched as the children laughed and marvelled at their work. “We did it!” one of them shouted. “We brought the Hunstead back to life!” Michael felt a swell of pride. The garden wasn’t just his anymore—it belonged to the children, too. Together, they had created something beautiful, something that would benefit the entire village.

A Plan for the Future
One sunny afternoon, Jenna came up to visit the Hunstead. She was amazed by what she saw. “Michael, this is incredible,” she said, looking around at the lush, vibrant garden. “You and the children have done something truly special here.” Michael beamed. “We couldn’t have done it without the goats, the magic rope, and the children’s hard work.” Jenna nodded. “But if you want to do this on a bigger scale, we need to figure out how to get more Hunsteads. The Mayor gave you this one, but the others still belong to the king.”

Michael’s smile faded slightly. “I’ve been thinking about that,” he said. “We’ll need money to buy them, won’t we?” “Yes,” Jenna said. “But if we work together, I’m sure we can come up with a plan. The more Hunsteads we restore, the more food we can grow, and the more people we can help.”

Michael looked out at the garden, at the children tending their plots, at the mushrooms and plants working together in harmony. He knew Jenna was right. This was just the beginning. “We’ll figure it out,” he said firmly…
